Gonzaga has now had their disappointing loss to St Mary’s and come into the WCC tournament as a massive favorite, hence the massive spread. I do think the team is a little overrated and may be poised for an early exit in the overall tournament, but we’re not there yet.

Right now, the Zags are coming off a loss and have had plenty of time to rest up and prepare for the conference tournament. They’ve beat San Francisco by 16 points twice this year when the stakes were far lower. When there’s a big gap between teams, it is most often the better team not taking the game seriously enough that leads to upsets or blown covers. That won’t be the case tonight as the Zags head for the WCC title.

In the SoCon finals, Furman and Chatanooga will face off for the third time this season. Chatanooga won both regular season matchups in close fashion. There’s a few things that I love about Furman tonight. Both teams have proficient offenses, scoring in the high 70s on average but Furman has a more balanced attack where Chatanooga is very reliant on Malachi Smith.

In the last matchup, Furman slowed down the pace and aimed to limit scoring, which worked well for the first half, but Chatanooga came back with an outstanding performance from Darius Banks who dropped 24, well over his average of 8 per game. Furman knows the right game plan to win and if they avoid an uncharacteristically great performance from the Chatanooga role players, they can win and get to the tournament tonight.
