Do not sleep on the Jazz. This team healthy is too good to ignore. They’ve had their share of injuries but they are as close as they’ve been to full strength in a while, only missing Rudy Gay tonight. Rudy Gobert has had time to rehab his calf injury (and hopefully won’t get ejected) and Donovan Mitchell is full form. Early in the season this team was fighting for the 1 seed in the West. They’ve got a lot of ground to make up but don’t be surprised if they claw their way up again.

The Mavs need all the firepower they’ve got to match up to this defense and are missing Burke and likely Bullock. If you think the Jazz should win, you should think they’ll cover, as they have in 8 of their last 10 wins.

This pick is basically a question of whether you trust LeBron or not. It’s crunch time and the pressure is serious on the Lakers who currently sit at number 9 in the western conference. LeBron has made it clear that he’s playing for legacy now and another early playoff exit would not look good.

It’s not sustainable for a player or team of this age to make the herculean effort every game, but against a team one spot ahead in the playoffs, crosstown rival, and coming well rested, this is the time. The stars are aligning for a big effort from the Lakers tonight against a Clippers team that has played admirably but doesn’t match up talent wise.
