The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders travel to North Carolina to take on the Charlotte 49ers for a 7:00 pm tip. The Blue Raiders are having a tremendous season with a 22-7 overall record, 5-7 on the road. They are currently in 1st place in the Conference USA with a 13-3 record and have won 8 straight games.

The Charlotte 49ers are an average team with a 15-13 overall record, but are solid at home with a 10-4 record. The 49ers are in 4th place in Conference USA with an 8-8 record. Charlotte lost their last game against FAU and are 2-6 in their last 8 games.

Middle Tennessee is one of the hottest teams in the country right now. They have been a cash cow for covering the spread. They have a strong offense, ranking 81st in ppg (74.9), 117th in fg% (45.1) and are exceptional at the charity stripe (75.7%). On the defensive side they rank 99th in ppg (66.5), they hold teams to 31.5 3pt% (71) and grabn 29.9 defensive boards per game (93). This MTSU has won 8 games straight and 13 of their last 14 games. They are clearly the best team in this conference and have proven so throughout the season.

Charlotte has been an average team. They really hit their stride in the middle of the season, but have been trending downward for the past month. Charlotta has a solid offense, scoring 70.7 ppg (189), shooting 46.8% (47), 35.7% from 3 (80), and shooting 78.9% from the charity stripe (7). Ther weakness is on the other side of the ball. They surrender 71.9 ppg (258), allow teams to shoot 46.2% (324), and 36.5% from 3 (324).

Even though Charlotte is a solid home team, they have been struggling as of late. They have only won 2 of their last 5 games at home. Middle Tennessee has the upperhand in just about every statistical category and has dominated the series against Charlotte. I do not see this changing today!
