FlashPicks Insider's NFL DFS Guide Week 1 - 9/9

NFL DFS WEEK 1 GUIDE (Sunday 1pm Main Slate)

It’s that time of the year… Fantasy Football is back!

I will guide you all through how to take down a DFS fantasy football contest. My views may be a bit contrarian from week to week but I assure you by the end of the year we will have people taking down tournaments left and right. Also I will be referring to FanDuel Pricing as that is what I know best but the same rules apply for all books just use your own judgement based on pricing.

There are two keys when it comes to taking down big field tournaments. One is game stacking - this means playing multiple players from one game as you believe that game will have one of the highest totals on the slate. Stacking gives you the best chance to take advantage of that high total. The second is finding the low ownership plays that end up exploding. You will shoot up the contest leaderboard if you have a player at 1 percent ownership with 20- 30 points. I will be using these rules to provide you with my favorite game stack and two to three sneaky low ownership plays (we can’t predict exact ownership but I will be targeting players that are projected to be under 10% owned.

Favorite Game Stack - Saints/Falcons

The Falcons allowed the 2nd most fantasy points to QB’s and the most fantasy points to WR’s last year. This game could be insane. I am all over the Saints offense here. Winston has all the weapons in front of him - Micheal Thomas, Juice, Olave, Kamara etc. I can see him scoring 30 here easily. The prices for all these players are also criminal. I have them ranked below

  1. Jameis Winston - $6,700
  2. Micheal Thomas - $6,200
  3. Chris Olave - $5,000
  4. Jarvis Landry - $5,700
  5. Alvin Kamara - $8,500

Jameis is the only lock here, just pair him with two of the other options. I like Kamara but he scares me at the same time. Mark Ingram could take a touchdown or two from him. But when it comes to receiving he is obviously the superior back. The upside is there but he can dud and the price is a bit steep. For that reason I'll stick with the cheaper WR options. As a bring back option I'll be going with Kyle Pitts $5,700. Mariota will have to rely on Pitts to keep this game close.

Sneaky Plays

Adam Theilen - Projected 5.6% ownership - Everyone is on Justin Jefferson, Theilan should see easier coverage assuming the Packers and Jaire Alexander are worried about Jefferson; Theilen is the clear play especially considering the price. He is $6,100 compared to $8,100. Please don't forget Theilan still had 10 touchdowns last year. He is still and elite option in this offense.

Allen Lazard - Projected 6.9% ownership - Rodgers is still arguably the best QB in the league (definitely top 5). Lazard is the clear cut WR 1. He also had 8 touchdowns last year WITH Adams in the line up.

*LAZARD IS QUESTIONABLE WATCH THE NEWS CLOSELY.

I wish you good luck ladies and gentleman. LET'S TAKE ONE DOWN.
