Indiana has shown flashes this season that make you think they could compete with the best. They beat Purdue after all, then a top 5 team in the country. They even beat Ohio State in the last matchup by 16 points. They won a close one over St Johns early in the season, and trounced Penn State.

The common thread is something we see a lot this season, they are all home games. Indiana has basically no impressive wins away from home and they can tend to blow up late in games, something made even worse by how badly they are at shooting free throws. I think that makes the difference in this one and Ohio State wins by close to 10.

Don’t mistake this pick for me thinking ASU is a great team. They are firmly outside most projected brackets and are unlikely to go far in the Pac 12 tournament. But they have picked up a little steam recently, winning against Oregon, Oregon State and Wash St.

They match up surprisingly well to the hot UCLA offense, and you cannot discount the confidence that ASU will get from winning the last matchup. Was that win a fluke though? UCLA shot 23% from 3 which isn’t likely to happen again, but they adjusted in game and still couldn’t get a win. This is a huge plus spread for a team that won the last head to head and I like those odds.
