John Bollman's NLCS Game 2: Player Prop Picks - 10/19

image

Top1 Walk (+150)

Blake Snell is more than capable of losing his command and we know he walks plenty of batters especially after walking six batters against the Mets in his first playoff start. He walked two batters in his last start and I think he will be nibbling again today after getting hit hard in two starts against the Phillies this season.

Bottom1 Walk (+230)

Aaron Nola has been dominant this postseason but as I always say, if you’re going to get to these aces, it has to be in the first inning. We saw both starters walk a batter in the first inning yesterday then not walk another the rest of the game.

I like this value best.

Blake Snell Over 1.5 Walks (-170)

Snell walked two batters in his last outing and six batters in his outing before that against the Mets. The Phillies have plenty of righties and they work counts. I think Snell hits this over, especially because he will be thinking about his two bad outings against the Phillies this season.

Aaron Nola Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-125)

Aaron Nola struck out 6 batters and 6 batters in his first two playoff starts. I think he will have similar success today. He has good numbers against the Padres batters, and he should pitch his usual six innings, so I think he hits this over. The Padres were swinging early in the count yesterday which worries me a bit, but maybe Nola will just play into that aggressiveness and pitch off it.

Bryson Stott Under 0.5 Total Bases (+105)

I think this will be a low scoring game, so I went with unders today. Stott is 2 for 18 in the playoffs and he had a really tough assignment today facing the lefty Blake Snell who he has never seen. Stott is also a lefty, and he has hits in just two of the six playoff games. He won’t have many at bats batting at the bottom of the order either.

Will Myers Under 0.5 Total Bases (-105)

Will Myers is 3 for 26 in the postseason and he has a hit in three of the seven games he has played in. He has a tough matchup today with Aaron Nola who he is 3 for 11 against in his career. He had the only hit yesterday but he has just as tough of an assignment against Nola today.
