The Marlins have been all over the place this year. Just when you think they’ve got something figured out, they can’t a run. They put up 14 runs in a blowout then 12 runs the next day and still somehow lose. But the shining star has been Pablo Lopez. His changeup is damn near unhittable, and he’s not afraid to use it. Over 59 innings he’s got 1.8 ERA and 61 strikeouts. He’s also faced San Francisco before and mowed them down, allowing only 3 hits and 1 run over 5 innings. The Marlins only need minimal run support when Lopez is on the mound and they should be able to get it today against Webb.

Playing the late game 3 nights in a row on the West Coast is a tough assignment for the Mets. Tougher still, they’ve faced Tony Gonsolin, Chris Bassitt and now Walker Buehler. Side note, it should be illegal how stacked the Dodgers roster is. But David Peterson on the Mets side has been locked in this season as well. This will arguably be his biggest test yet but he’s faced tough lineups in his 6 starts including the Giants, Braves and Phillies. Still his stats are good and the Mets have a very good bullpen to support. Between the travel, timing and a great pitching matchup, this should be a recipe for an under.
