There’s a few factors I love for this over tonight. Joe Musgrove has been great so far, and even pitched well against the Reds in his last outing. The Reds have also had a very difficult time scoring, only able to score more than 2 runs in 1 of the last 9 games. But that’s where we get the value at 7.5 runs. Cincy is due for some runs based on the hit rates. And even if they can’t get much, the Padres offense has been excellent and won’t find much of a challenge in Reiver Sanmartin. The Reds also have arguably the worst bullpen in baseball. Add that to the hitter friendly ball park, and there should be plenty of runs in this one.

Taylor Hearn will start against the dangerous Astros lineup tonight and based on the numbers, it won’t look good. Hearn is still working on adjusting to a starting position and has yet to go past 4 innings in his 3 starts this year. The early part of the Houston lineup should be able to feast on the lefty and the sooner he comes out the better. The low longevity bodes well for the Astros who will face a very poor Texas bullpen. I don’t trust Odorizzi on the other side either, so this could quickly become a highly offensive game. In that scenario, this team total should be very much in play.
