@NickThePicker's Saturday MLB Picks - 8/13

San Diego Padres (64-51) @ Washington Nationals (37-77)

The Padres offense has started to get on a roll scoring 7, 13, and 10 runs in the last 3 games. They're now facing a pitcher that should be in the AAA, Anibal Sanchez. He has had 5 starts this year holding a ERA of 7.56, 0-5 record, WHIP 1.56, and in his best game he only gave up 3 runs. He has also given up a HR in every game and at least 2 walks, long story short he is a sorry excuse for a starting pitcher.  When he eventually gets pulled the bullpen for the nationals will also come into play. They're ranked 24th overall with a collective ERA of 4.35. All that being said I think it should be a good play even at the 5.5 number.

Nick's Pick: Padres TT o5.5(-104)

Philadelphia Phillies (63-49) vs New York Mets (73-40)

Nola vs Degrom if you're a fan of low scoring pitching duels this should be the perfect game for you. Let's start with the Tie, I'm obviously planning on a 0-0 first inning but you do have a little wiggle room there for 1-1, 2-2, and so on. Nola is 20-2 this year not giving up a run in the first and Degrom is 2-0. Is adding this a risk? YES, but I wanted to buy an extra point on the under to make it 7.5 and plus money so I think it's worth the risk. The ballpark isn't ideal for hitters with deep center fields and low wind. I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this but both pitchers are studs with decent bullpens ranked 10th and 17th overall. This should have a playoff game feel.

Bet Responsibly.

Nick's Pick: Mets vs Phillies 1st inning tie/under 7.5(+116)
