If you spent some time on twitter this morning, you may have come across some really interesting narratives for today’s prop. Firstly, it is Darius Garland’s birthday! Happy birthday to him (as long as he hits tonight…..just kidding). Another really interesting narrative is that he has tied LeBron’s Cleveland record with 5 straight games with double digit assists, and could break that record tonight. While narrative plays are always fun, there is so much more to like about this prop. 

Like I said, he has 10+ assists in 5 straight, and has hit this in 7 of his last 8 games. He is getting huge min (36.7 a game this month) and with that has come a massive potential assists number. In the last 10 games, he is averaging 18.6 potential assists and that jumps to 20.6 over the last 5 games. For reference, Chris Paul leads the league with 19 a game this season. 

The Bucks are middle of the pack in assists allowed to PG this year, but as the season has gone on they have become far more susceptible to allowing PG to shred through their defense. Over the last 30 days, the Bucks have allowed the 6th most assists per game to the lead guard position. They have allowed the opposing PG to record 10+ assists in 3 of their last 4 games with the one miss being Coby White, who is more of a combo guard and shared passing duties with Dosunmu and Derozan.
