With Illinois falling, Wisconsin is starting to smell the Big Ten title. They’ve split the games with Michigan State this year but the question is which Michigan State will we see today? The one that beat Wisconsin in Madison or the one that lost 7 of 9 games? The win in Madison was impressive but the Spartans have proved they are not as good as we’ve given credit for. They let up a 20 point lead to barely eke out a win against Maryland, and with how Wisconsin has been finishing games, in the same situation the Badgers would have sent them home. A 3 point spread doesn’t scare with the free throw shooting Wisconsin has, so I expect a two possession victory at the end.

When Duke was at their best this year, there were few teams that could compete. Miami was astonishingly one of them, handing Duke one of only 3 home losses. The Hurricanes have themselves dropped some disappointing losses, but they play everyone close. Since December, they’ve lost only 1 games by multiple possessions. There is something to be said for a team knowing they can beat their opponent and so Miami shouldn’t be scared by the aura of Duke Basketball. Down the stretch I’m not confident the Hurricanes can win but I do see the game a lot closer than a 9 point spread.
