He has nine rushing touchdowns this season, with five coming in conference games, including three touchdowns his last time out against ULM. He scored in three of five conference games, but will be facing a weak Troy run defense.

• Colton Joseph, 3+ Passing Touchdowns at +230

He has thrown 19 touchdown passes this season with at least one in seven of nine games, multiple in six, and 3+ in five (three times vs. conference opponents). Pass defense is one of the better parts of Troy’s game, but with Joseph’s track record, I’m comfortable taking him to throw 3+ vs. Troy.

• OVER 52.5 at -110

Old Dominion is averaging 31+ points per game this season, and Troy has scored 31+ points in four of its last five games. With a little help from a turnover or two from the Monarchs, they’ll clear 30 points in this game.

He’s gone Over this number in six of his last eight games, but only one of his last three. Troy has a decent pass defense, but Joseph’s talent and the overall talent on the Old Dominion offense will win out.

• Tae Meadows (Troy), OVER 65.5 Rushing Yards at -105

Meadows has gone OVER this mark in three of five conference games including one of this last three. But he’ll be facing an Old Dominion defense that gives up 173.9 yards per game on the ground (105th in the country).

• Troy +11

At first glance, I wondered why the spread was so big for two teams with identical 6-3 records. However, upon closer examination of each team, it became readily apparent—Old Dominion is simply the better team. But some trends make me feel comfortable taking Troy and the points:

• The Trojans are 4-0 ATS on the road and 4-1 ATS as underdogs.
• Try is +4 in turnovers in Sun Belt games.
• Old Dominion is 2-2 ATS at home and just 3-3 ATS when favored.
• The Monarchs have 20 turnovers this season (nine interceptions and 11 fumbles).

I’m not really confident in Troy despite their solid record (6-3, 4-1 in conference play). Their defense is okay on its best day, and the offense is barely adequate. However, there is no denying that these guys tend to find a way to win. I’m definitely not saying they can do that.

However, against an Old Dominion team that is turnover-prone (11 total in conference play; five games), they’ll probably get the help they need to keep it close.
