Same Game Parlay (SGP): Kent State vs. Akron

• Jordan Gant, Anytime Touchdown at -135

He has only scored five touchdowns this year, with two coming last week and three against Duquesne back in Week 4. But now that the offense is giving him the ball 19-28 a game, he’ll have a good chance of scoring against Kent State’s awful run defense.

• Akron, OVER 126.5 Rushing Yards at -114

The Zips have averaged only 136.5 yards per game on the ground, but they should have no trouble going OVER that mark against Kent State’s terrible run defense (189.3 yards per game).

• Jordan Nubin (Kent State), UNDER 51.5 at -114

Nubin had a decent game against UMass (80 yards) and Toledo (61 yards), but did little against Bowling Green (37 yards) and even less against Ball State (14). Kent State has struggled to run the ball all year. There is no reason to expect better this week.

• Jordan Gant (Akron), OVER 97.5 Rushing Yards at -114 (vs. Kent State)

The Zips have been leaning on Gant more the last few weeks, and it's been paying off; he ran for 153 yards and two scores last weekend vs. UMass and had 95 yards on 25 carries the week before. Akron will likely take advantage of Kent State’s dreadful run defense and lean on him in this game, too.

• Parker Navarro (Ohio), UNDER 199.5 Passing Yards at -114 (vs. Western Michigan)

Navarro has been hovering around this number for most of the MAC schedule, going for 208 yards or less in four of the five conference games. Western Michigan has a tough pass defense (second in the conference) and will likely keep Navarro in check.

• Akron -5.5 at -115

Akron will come into this game with a lot of confidence after dominating UMass 44-10 last weekend. Between Jordan Gant running and Ben Finley’s timely passing game against a dreadful Kent State defense, they should make quick work of the Golden Flashes.

• Ohio-Western Michigan, UNDER 47.5 at -115

Neither team has a high-powered offense; Ohio averages around 28 while Wester Michigan averages closer to 22. But both teams do have solid defenses; Ohio has held all conference opponents to 20-21 points while only two opponents have scored 20+ against Western Michigan.

Akron has put forth more of an effort to establish the run, and it’s paid off. Kent State will not be able to stop Jordan Gant for more than a quarter; he’ll eventually start grinding out some yards and lead the Zips to a win.

There is nothing impressive about Ohio or Western Michigan’s offense, but both do have solid defenses. The team that makes a big play on offense will likely win. As for who that will be, that's a good question. However, we can expect the score to be low in this game.
