MACtion SGPs, Player Props, and Best Bets, Week 13, Wednesday – November 19

The MACtion continues Wednesday night with a pair of intriguing contests: Central Michigan vs. Kent State and Miami (OH) vs. Buffalo. If you are not super-familiar with these teams, that’s okay because we’ve identified a same-game parlay, player props, and the best bets of the night for these games.

Same Game Parlay (SGP): Central Michigan vs. Kent State

• Joe Labas (Central Michigan), 170+ Passing Yards at +121

He had a season-high 247 yards last week vs., his second game over 160 yards. To be fair, they don’t throw much (Labas had 8-16 attempts in seven of ten games). But Kent State has a dreadful pass defense, allowing nearly 270 yards per game.

• Langston Lewis, 50+ Receiving Yards at -119

Central Michigan doesn’t pass much, so his numbers are not impressive. But he has gone for 50+ in his last three games. Since there is a good chance the Chippewas throw a little more to take advantage of Kent State’s poor pass defense, his chances of getting at least 50 look good.

• Central Michigan -6.5 at -165

The Chippewas are one of five teams in the MAC with 4-2 conference records, so to stay alive for a spot in the MAC title game, they must win. Their defense isn’t great, but it is probably good enough to handle Kent State’s offense.

The official spread is 9.5 points, but I’m not confident Central Michigan can win this by ten.

• Nahree Biggins (Central Michigan), Anytime Touchdown at -160 (vs. Kent State)

Biggins only has two on the year, but with Angel Flores (who has scored eight of Central Michigan’s 15 rushing touchdowns) out with an injury, he’s the best candidate to fill the void.

• Nik McMillan (Buffalo), Anytime Touchdown at +225 (vs. Miami (OH))

McMillan only has three touchdowns on the season, and two came last week vs. Central Michigan. Victor Snow has recorded seven of Buffalo’s 15 receiving TDs but hasn’t scored since the UMass game (October 18). McMillan has 33 catches over the last four games with 100+ yards in each.

• Central Michigan-Kent State, OVER 47.5 at -112

The OVER is 7-3 for Central Michigan, 4-2 on the road, and 1-0 when a road favorite. The OVER is 5-5 for Kent State, 5-3 as underdogs, and 1-1 as home dogs. The Chippewas will do the bulk of the work with the Golden Flashes chipping in enough to send the final OVER the TOTAL.

• Miami (OH)-Buffalo, UNDER 39.5 at -112

Neither team has an impressive offense, but they aren’t bad on defense. Miami (OH)’s offense was already not good, but with Henry Hesson taking over at QB and Dequan Finn leaving to prep for the NFL, the passing game is going to get even worse.

Don’t be afraid to do the homework for a game. With some matchups, the best bets aren’t clear and obvious. You may need to dig into what makes each team click to identify the most advantageous bets. It’s not sexy, but it is what it takes to win more often than not.
