@Matkafee’s UFC London Picks - 7/23

Two hard hitting heavyweights headline this UFC Fight Night. Tom Aspinall gets a step up in competition with Curtis Blaydes who has fought for the title. The Englishman is a small betting favorite and I’m not sure why. Blaydes has better wrestling and has fought the tougher competition. Aspinall is one of the brightest prospects in the division but we haven’t seen his cardio past the second round and we haven’t seen him overcome any adversity. I think Blaydes uses his experience and wrestling to get the win. 

Pick: Curtis Blaydes ML +120

This is a very even fight in the middleweight division. Hermansson has fought almost every name in the division the last few years but hasn’t been able to break through for a title shot. Chris Curtis is stepping in as a replacement for the injured Darren Till. He’s coming off a solid performance against Rodolfo Vieira a month ago. I think I’ll take my shot an Curtis here, he’s been the more active fighter and I think Hermansson will struggle in the exchanges.

Pick: Chris Curtis -110

Jordan Leavitt has the tough task of trying to derail the Paddy-train. Star in the making Pimblett is a -245 favorite and is very likely to win this fight. I don’t believe Leavitt has enough power to trouble Paddy in the exchanges and if it goes to the ground you would think Pimblett has the advantage there too. I see Paddy riding the wave of overwhelming crowd support he’ll have tonight and finishing Jordan.
