The Sunday Special

NFL Player Prop lines and odds move quick these days, which inspired me to lock this in today!

Davante Adams (LV) & Marquise Brown (ARI) to combine for 200+ Receiving Yards (+350)

This is a Draftkings special for the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals game this Sunday. I found it under Weekly Specials in the subgroup called Player Specials (see screenshot at the bottom).

I had circled Adams and Brown as two of my top WR targets in Week 2, and when I saw this prop listed, I immediately put 0.5 units on it to win 1.75.

Here’s why I like Davante Adams:

  • He was targeted on 17 of 34 pass plays last week.
  • That’s an insane 50% target share from his new Quarterback.
  • He converted 10 of those targets into 141 receiving yards and a score.
  • Adams’ Week 1 dominance was predictable based on the WR/CB matchup.
  • The Raiders exploited the mismatch, and the opportunity is ripe to do it again vs. Arizona.
  • The Cardinals’ secondary ranked dead last (#32/32) in PFF coverage grades last week, continuing a trend from last season when they ranked bottom-11.
  • PFF lists Davante Adams with the #1 WR/CB advantage league-wide again in Week 2.
  • Even if he yields some targets back to Raiders’ WR2 Hunter Renfrow this week (which is very possible), he should still see 10+ targets and clear the 100+ receiving yard mark again with 125-140+ yard upside.

Here’s why I like Marquise Brown:

  • The former Baltimore Raven underwhelmed in his Cardinals debut, catching just 4 passes for 43 yards and a TD. Here’s why I expect a bigger game in Week 2:
  • Brown ran a route on 100% of his snaps in Week 1, which is great. Interestingly, he was only targeted on 15% of those routes though. That 15% number is low and should be the floor for him (i.e., lowest it will get) based on his projected role in the offense. If we’re right, then there’s immense upside on Hollywood Brown’s receiving yards prop this week. A speedy WR with big play potential like him could easily eclipse the 100+ yards mark with a few more targets in a plus matchup.
  • I also like how Brown and his new QB Kyler Murray don’t require a honeymoon period. The two combined to light the college football world on fire together at Oklahoma. QB/WR chemistry doesn’t die overnight, and while it wasn’t obvious in Week 1, I’m willing to bet Kyler wants to flip the narrative and show they still have it.
  • PFF is currently listing Marquise Brown with the #2 WR/CB advantage in Week 2, behind only… you guessed it: Davante Adams.

And you’re telling me we can pair them for 200+ combined yards at +350?!

Take my money. I risked 0.5 units to win 1.5.
