+900 as of 10/21/22
Myles Garrett’s defensive performance was the silver lining of the Cleveland Browns’ disappointing (8-9) 2021 season. Garrett produced a solid 16 sacks. If he can put up similar or better numbers and the Browns can make the playoffs, Myles Garrett will remain a heavy favorite. It's that simple.
TJ Watt (Pittsburgh Steelers) +800
*Unavailable due to injury as of 10/21/22
TJ Watt spent last year absolutely torching offensive lines. The Steelers’ big man tallied 22.5 sacks on the season, tying Giants’ legend Michael Strahan for all-time most sacks in an NFL season. TJ won last year’s Defensive Player of the Year award and can be expected to remain a heavy favorite as he looks to go back-to-back. The main obstacle blocking TJ Watt from an easy DPOY campaign is the Steelers’ performance this year. Sportsbooks are leaning on the under for Pittsburgh’s win total at 7.5.
Aaron Donald (Los Angeles Rams) +900
+1600 as of 10/21/22
We couldn’t talk about NFL Defensive Player of the Year favorites without mentioning Aaron Donald. The LA Rams’ big man is coming off of a Super Bowl win with the Los Angeles Rams last season, a 3x (2017, 2018, 2020) DPOY winner, 8x Pro-Bowler and was the Defensive Rookie of the Year. A month ago, Donald was tied for the No. 1 spot with Myles Garrett. A few weeks and a couple underwhelming preseason performances later (including a helmet-swinging practice fiasco), Aaron Donald has fallen to the No. 3 spot.

CLAIM NOWMicah Parsons (Dallas Cowboys) +1000
+100 as of 10/21/22
The second year linebacker is due for another great year with the Dallas Cowboys. Last year, Parsons won the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year award and finished in 2nd place DPOY to TJ Watt. Parsons stated that he expects himself to have at least 15 sacks this season and is aiming for 23 (The record held by TJ Watt and Michael Strahan). Now that he’s got a year of experience under his belt and a DPOY-snub chip on his shoulder, Micah Parsons has the motivation and talent to take the award.
Joey Bosa (Los Angeles Chargers) +2500
*Unavailable due to injury as of 10/21/22
Joey Bosa has always been an elite linebacker - the problem’s been the rest of the Chargers’ Defensive line. That should no longer be a problem with the LA Chargers’ offseason acquisition of seasoned vet Khalil Mack. With less to worry about on the field, expect Joey Bosa’s numbers and DPOY chances to rise as the season progresses. At +2500, Joey Bosa is worth a look.
