In this week's main event we get a women's Strawweight match that could open the doors for a possible title fight for the winner. Marina Rodriguez comes into this event on a four-fight win streak looking to showcase exactly why she deserves a shot at the strawweight belt. Rodriguez is 16-1 with 6 wins by KO, 1 by Submission, and 9 by Decision. Rodriguez specializes in Muay Thai and offers very solid and persistent striking. Amanda Lemos is one of the hardest-hitting women in the UFC that also offers danger on the mat with her BJJ. Lemos has won 6 out of her last 7 matches with five of those ending by finish. Lemos has a pro record of 12 wins, 2 losses 1 Majority Draw. Out of her 12 professional wins 9 of them have been by KO or Submission. This will be the third 5 round fight of Rodriguez's career while only being the second for Lemos. Amanda Lemos has never been past the third round which gives me serious concerns when it comes to her gas tank at the age of 35. Rodriguez will be looking to chop down Lemos with lots of strikes breaking her down until she's open for the finish. Lemos will come out looking for a finish early as she tends to slow down and lose her power as the fight goes on. Both fighters stand to gain a lot from a win here and I see them both coming out hot for an early finish.
The books have given us a line of 4.5 rounds and we really like the UNDER.
