This should be a great game. You might be thinking to yourself, “Yeah right. England by 100 this team is way too good.” I’m here to tell you, not so fast my friend. As we saw throughout the Euros and World Cup Qualifying, Hungry is a very tough team to beat at home or away. They managed to get a 1-1 draw with France, a 1-1 draw vs England, a 2-1 win over Poland, and a 2-2 draw with Germany. Hungry is a team that has that dog in them. Something that is hard to quantify, but you know it when you see it.
I might be a little biased here. A couple of my favorite MLS players have been getting opportunities to show their skills and develop their game playing for Hungry. Daniel Gazdag has been able to carry much of what he’s learned back home and has the Philly Union sitting 2nd place in the east. If he starts for Hungry, I might not be able to resist sprinkling on his anytime goal in the +800 neighborhood. A shot on target bet is probably the smarter play, but we will get to all of that shortly. I also really like Daniel Salloi’s game. He has been getting a decent amount of time on the pitch for Hungry and it has helped him tremendously at SKC. I’ll be looking at his SOT as well if he starts. Salloi is also a great set-up man, so his assist number is always worth a look.
England on the other hand isn’t running any MLS players out. That squad looks like the Monstars from Space Jam. Kane, Mount, Abraham, Saka, Bellingham, Rice, Grealish, the list goes on and on. They can definitely drop 5 goals on your head any given match. However, they also have some absolute hacks on the back end. I’m talking about you, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, and Harry Maguire. I will definitely be looking at bookings prices for any of those three in the starting rotation. Shaw started and picked up a yellow in the previous H2H that ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the end, I will always gas up Hungry because I love an underdog. In reality, England should win this game. I don’t think they will be able to do it with a clean sheet. I expect both teams to score and then England to handle business. The numbers will dictate our picks as alway.
