There is no nice way to say this. New England is in shambles right now. Matt Turner heading to Arsenal and Adam Buska heading to Lens have put the Revolution in position to have a lot of future success, but itβs not going to help them today. Toronto on the other hand, has signed basically every Italian player they could get their hands on. Signings like Insigne, Bernardeschi, and Criscito should have an immediate impact and translate quickly into wins on the pitch.
We saw that Italian impact immediately translate to a win last weekend. When Toronto was able to beat the breaks of Charlotte 4-0. Bernareschi logged a goal and an assist in that match. Insigne got on the score sheet with an assist to Bradley. All four of Torontoβs goals came in the first half of the match. That is a total dream performance for Toronto and exactly what they needed out of these big name signings. I look for that trend to continue today as Toronto hit the road to take on New England.
The New England Revolution managed to hold Columbas Crew to a 0-0 draw on the road last weekend. It is impressive that the Revolution were able to come home with a point, but I honestly donβt rate Columbus because they have been atrocious at finishing all year. Columbus out possessed New England 57 percent to 43 percent. Columbus out shot New England 17-5 and had 7 SOT compared to New Englandβs 2 SOT. I am fading everything New England today.
