Dallas is coming off an absolutely phenomenal 1-0 road win in Salt Lake City last week. I definitely think Dallas heard me talking smack on the defense. Coming away from that stadium with the team's first clean sheet since the 7th of May is impressive. LA Galaxy are coming off a nice bounce back home win vs Atlanta. Galaxy managed a 2-0 win against one of the MLS’s worst road teams. (Atlanta hasn’t won a road game since the 2nd of April.)
Unfortunately for Galaxy fans, the team has looked like garbage recently. 2-1-4 in the last 7 matches including two terrible home losses to Minnisota and San Jose. All soccer fans know you have to handle business at home. In my opinion the Galaxy’s biggest problem is the manager's refusal to start Dejan Joveljic. He has a team high 9 goals this year and is tied for 5th in the MLS for most goals. Joveljic HAS to be in the starting lineup and not be coming off the bench. He should also be playing WITH Chicherito and not as his sub.
The Dallas defense stepped up in a big way on the road keeping RSL scoreless. Jesus Ferreira stepped up and got us our goal. He currently has 12 on the season and is tied for 2nd in the MLS golden boot race. I will look for him to continue building on that total tonight. Paul Arriola didn’t record a SOT last game, but I believe that he will get plenty of opportunities today against a suspect Galaxy back line. Arriola may not be everyone’s favorite USMNT player, but he has 9 goals on the year for Dallas and shouldn’t be overlooked.
