Burroaks77’s Saturday MLS Pick - 6/26

Burroaks77

Austin vs. Dallas

This is the match of the weekend for me. As I’ve written before, Austin is playing great football and I think they are a legitimate playoff contender. Dallas has one of the best academies in the country. They are constantly producing European and USMNT level tallent. Guys like Ricardo Pepe, Chris Richards, Weston McKennie, and Ramiro Funes Mori. I think this is going to be an absolutely electric game with plenty of goals. This is Austin’s second season as a MLS team, and I see this match quickly becoming a Texas Darby.

Austin was able to gut out a gritty road win in Montreal last weekend. Pereira was sent off with a double yellow/ red card in the 44th minute. He will be suspended for this match. Urruti managed to net the only goal of the game giving him five on the year. I will be looking at Driussi to add to his 8 goals today.

Dallas is a frustrating and confusing team. They looked like world beaters going on the road and beating Orlando 3-1. Home losses to Vancouver and Minnisota left me scratching my head. That is part of the game when looking at a team that turns over a lot of young talent. Speaking of talent, two guys to keep an eye on today for goals are Jesus Ferreira and Paul Arriola. You should know Ferreira’s name from his 4 goal game for the USMNT vs Grenada. He is also leading the MLS in goals with nine. Arriola netted and assisted a goal in that same Granada match. He has seven so far this season for Dallas.

So we have three of the top goal scorers playing in this match. It shouldn’t surprise you that I’m going back to one of my all time favorite bets. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.

Burroaks77 picks:

Jesus Ferreira AGS +170

Sebastian Driussi AGS +220

Paul Arriola AGS +280 (.5u)
