Champions League PSG vs Borussia Dortmund: Preview, Prediction & Betting Picks

Date: 07/05/2024

Kick off time: 16:00 EST

Location: Parc des Princes

Borussia Dortmund picked up an important 1 - 0 win in the first leg at Signal Iduna Park, but PSG may be able to turn it around on home turf.

PSG currently sit top of Ligue 1 after 31 games. The Parisians have 20 wins, ten draws and just one loss, leaving them on 70 points, nine points above second-place Monaco.

The Parisians have yet to win the Champions League in their history. PSG have made the Final just once in 2020, where they lost 1 - 0 to Bayern Munich. Since then, PSG made the Semi Finals in 2021 where they lost 4 - 1 on aggregate and the Round of 16 twice.
Borussia Dortmund, however, sit fifth in the Bundesliga. In 32 games, The Black and Yellows have 17 wins, nine draws and six losses which leaves them on 60 points, three points from RB Leipzig in fourth place.

The Black and Yellows, however, have lifted the Champions League trophy. The one win came all the way back in 1997 when Dortmund beat Juventus 3 - 1 in the Final. Since then the furthest Dortmund have gone is another Final appearance. This came in 2013 at Wembley, the same location as this year’s Final, where Dortmund lost 2 - 1 to arch rivals Bayern Munich.

PSG and Borussia Dortmund have met seven times in their histories, with the first meeting coming back in 2010. Dortmund have two wins, PSG have two wins and three draws.

The last five games in the fixture have seen two wins for PSG, one win for Dortmund and one draw. Only two games of the last five have seen both teams on the scoresheet.

Despite the loss in the first leg, PSG are likely to pick up a win in the second leg. However, it all matters as to whether they pick up a big enough win as both teams are likely to be on the scoresheet. PSG 3 - 1 Dortmund.
