Manchester City look to repeat last season’s triumphs and lift the Cup again, whereas Newcastle aim to replicate their form this season in the league in knock-out football and reach the Semi-finals for the first time in years.

Manchester City currently sit third in the Premier League. In 28 games, City have 19 wins, six draws and three losses, leaving them on 63 points, just one point behind Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Sky Blues have made ten FA Cup Finals in their history, winning six times with the first coming back in 1934. In the last five seasons in the competitions, Man City have at least made it to the Semi-finals but also won it on two occasions, a 6 - 0 win over Watford and a 2 - 1 win over Manchester United.

Newcastle sit just below Manchester City in ninth after 27 games. The Magpies have 12 wins, four draws and 11 losses which leaves them on 40 points, only seven points from Tottenham in the Europa League spot.

The Magpies have won the FA Cup on four occasions, but the most recent win came all the way back in 1955. In fact, since that win in 1955, the most recent Finals appearance for Newcastle was in 1999, where they lost 2 - 0 to Manchester United. Since 1999, Newcastle have made the Semi-finals once, in 2005, where they lost 4 - 1 to United.

Manchester City and Newcastle have met 191 times in their histories, with the first meeting coming back in 1893. City have a marginally better record in the fixture with 77 wins in comparison to Newcaslte’s 73 wins, the other 41 games ending in a draw.

In the last five games in the fixture, there have been three City wins, one Newcastle win and one draw. Despite the two 1 - 0 wins, the other three games of the last five meetings have all had over two goals, with two having over five goals.

Form Guide

In their last five games in all competitions, Man City have four wins and one draw.

The trip to Bournemouth saw Phil Foden score the only goal of the game in the 24th minute to give City the 1 - 0 win over Bournemouth, who had just 37% of the possession.

In the Fifth Round of the FA Cup, Man City made the journey to Kenilworth Road to take on fellow Premier League side Luton Town. Jordan Clark did manage to score two against City, but five goals from Erling Haaland and a goal from Mateo Kovacic secured the 6 - 2 win for City.

Back in the Premier League City took on Manchester United in the Manchester derby. Despite being behind at halftime through a goal from Marcus Rashford, a brace from Foden and a goal from Haaland gave Man City the 3 - 1 win.

The second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, City hosted Copenhagen. Goals from Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez gave City the 2 - 0 lead before the ten minute mark. Mohamed Elyounoussi did get Copenhagen on the scoresheet but a goal from Haaland wrapped up the 3 - 1 win for City and the spot in the next round.

The last time out for Man City was a top of the table clash with Liverpool. John Stones opened the scoring for City in the first half, but a penalty from Alexis Mac Allister forced the 1 - 1 draw for Liverpool.

In their last five games in all competitions, Newcastle have three wins, one draw and one loss.

Bruno Guimaraes opened the scoring for The Magpies but Anthony Elanga equalised for Nottingham Forest before the 30 minute mark. Fabian Schar regained the lead for Newcastle but Callum Hudson-Odoi drew Forest level before halftime. Guimaraes completed his brace in the second half to secure the 3 - 2 win for Newcastle.

After a goalless first half, Dominic Solanke gave Bournemouth the lead just minutes into the second half. A penalty from Anthony Gordan equalised for Newcastle but Antoine Semenyo regained the lead for Bournemouth minutes later. However, a 92nd minute goal from Matt Ritchie grabbed the 2 - 2 draw for Newcastle.

The trip to the Emirates was one to forget for Newcastle. Former gunner Joe Willock did score for Newcastle but it was just a consolation goal as an own goal from Sven Botman and goals from Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Jakub Kiwior gave Arsenal the 4 - 1 win.

In the Fifth Round of the FA Cup, Newcastle took on Championship side Blackburn Rovers. Gordon opened the scoring for Newcastle in the 71st minute but Sammie Szmodics equalised within minutes to send the tie to extra time and later penalties. Dominic Hyam and Szmodics both missed their penalties to give Newcastle the 4 - 3 win.

Back in the Premier League, Newcastle hosted Wolves. Alexander Isak, Gordon and Tino Livramento all scored in the 3 - 0 win for Newcastle.

Newcastle also face Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday.
