Denmark vs Serbia - FlashPicks Prediction

Denmark impressed against England last game out, looking threatening at multiple points. Now they face a Serbia team who allowed multiple big chances in the box against Slovenia, and who have little reason to sit back if they concede first knowing they must win to go through.

The Danes won 3-0 the last time these teams met (in 2022). Eriksen has been heavily involved in all their attacking play so far this tournament, scoring once from his 8 shots, and will be aiming to get on the scoresheet again. Denmark 3 - 0 Serbia.

Euro 2024: Denmark vs Serbia Preview & Prediction

Denmark take on Serbia in the final match of Group C at the European Championships this Tuesday. The group is still open with a lot of the team within the chance of knock-out football, making a win here imperative for either team’s chances to make the knock-out rounds.

          • Date: 06/25/2024
          • Kick-off time: 15:00 (ET)
          • Location: Allianz Arena

Group C comes to a close this week, with England and Slovenia also looking to grab a win to shake up the group, Denmark and Serbia need the all-important three points.

Denmark currently sit second in Group C after two games. The Danes have picked up two draws so far and sit level with Slovenia with the exact same goal difference, two points behind England.

The Danes have had a mixed bag of results at previous Euros tournaments. In 1992 Denmark was crowned champions but in the 28 years between that win and their Semi-finals appearance last time out, the best Denmark could do was the Quarter-finals.

Serbia sit fourth and bottom in Group C. In two games, Serbia have picked up one draw and one loss, this leaves them bottom on one point, only a point behind both Denmark and Slovenia.

The Eagles make their first appearances in the European Championships as Serbia this summer but in the past, Serbia has made the Quarter-finals in 2000 and even further back as Yugoslavia, this side picked up two runner-up spots and a Fourth place.

Denmark and Serbia have met three times in their histories, with the first meeting coming as recently as 2014 in the European Championships. Denmark has the better record in the fixture with three wins in comparison to Serbia who are yet to beat The Danes.

This fixture usually sees only one side on the scoresheet, with only one clash in this fixture having both sides on the scoresheet - the 1 - 3 win for Denmark back in 2014.

Kasper Hjulmand will likely stick with the team that granted him the opening win with Rasmus Hojlund and Jonas Wind up front, supported by Christian Eriksen from the midfield.

          Serbia Team News

Dragan Stojković may opt to change up his starting line up for this must win game. Milinkovic-Savić and Luka Jović will both be hopeful of a start after being brought on as substitutes last game vs Slovenia.

Denmark vs Serbia - Recent Form

In their last five games in all competitions, Denmark have three wins and two draws.

An international friendly before the kick off of the Euros saw Denmark host the Faroe Islands. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg opened the scoring early in the eighth minute and Mohamed Daramy secured the 2 - 0 win with his goal ten minutes into the second half.

Hojbjerg was back on the scoresheet again for Denmark against Sweden, yet again early on in the second minute. Alexander Isak equalised for Sweden before the ten minute mark but with under five minutes to go Eriksen popped up with a goal to give Denmark the 2 - 1 win.

The final international friendly before the Euros saw Denmark take on Norway. Hojbjerg picked up yet another goal for Denmark to give them the lead and Jannik Vestergaard doubled the lead before halftime. Erling Haaland did get Norway on the scoresheet but a late goal from Yussuf Poulsen secured the 3 - 1 win for Denmark.

The first game of the Euros Group stage saw a clash between Slovenia and Denmark. Eriksen gave Denmark the lead at halftime with his 17th minute goal, but a late goal from Erik Janza grabbed a 1 - 1 draw for Slovenia.

The last time out for Denmark was against England. Denmark were behind early, as Harry Kane opened the scoring for England, however, Morten Hjulmand found the back of the net before halftime to make it level. Neither side could find another goal as the game finished in a 1 - 1 draw.

In their last five games in all competitions, Serbia have two wins, one draw and two losses.

An international friendly between Serbia and Cyprus saw just one goal separate the two sides. Milinkovic-Savic scored the only goal of the game in the seventh minute to give Serbia the win.

However, the next time out, Serbia were less fortunate against Austria. Patrick Wimmer and Christoph Baumgartner both scored in a three minute period early on and despite a goal from Strahinja Pavlovic before the halftime whistle, Austria held on for the 2 - 1 win.

Serbia bounced back with a big win over Sweden. Milinkovic-Savic opened the scoring for Serbia in the 18th minute to give them the lead at halftime. Mitrovic and Dusan Tadic added their names to the scoresheet in the second half as Serbia took home the 3 - 0 win.

The first game of the Euros Group stage saw Serbia take on England. Jude Bellingham scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute to give England the 1 - 0 win with Serbia having just one shot on target.

The most recent outing for Serbia was against Slovenia. Zan Karnicnik gave Slovenia the lead with just 20 minutes to go, but in the fifth minute of extra time Luka Jovic popped up with a goal to rescue a 1 - 1 draw for Serbia.
