              Germany vs Denmark Prediction

Germany have looked like potential candidates to win Euro 2024, meaning that we expect them to progress past a Denmark side that scored just two goals and mustered up three points in Group C against the likes of Slovenia, England and Serbia.

Julian Nagelsmann's men are a fairly free-scoring side, demonstrated by the fact that they have already found the back of the net eight times in just three matches, but, they do give opposing sides a chance at the back, meaning that the Germans have kept just two clean sheets in their last six matches - hence why we have predicted that Die Mannschaft will beat the Danes 3-1.

A player to look out for is Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala, the 21-year-old has scored twice in this summer's European Championship while averaging 1.3 key passes per game - he will be key as Germany look to unlock Denmark's compact defensive unit.

              We predict: Germany 3-1 Denmark.

Germany vs Denmark Preview & Prediction

The Hosts Germany take on Denmark at Signal Iduna Park this Saturday in the Round of 16 of the European Championships. Both sides had a somewhat shaky Group stage and will be looking to make a statement in the knock-out rounds.

              • Date: 29/06/2024
              • Kick-off time: 20:00
              • Location: Signal Iduna Park

As they look to lift the European Championship on home soil, Germany will need to pick up a win against Denmark. The Danes themselves will also be looking to continue their form at Euros dark horses.

Germany finished top of Group A after three games. The hosts picked up two wins and one draw, leaving them on seven points, two points ahead of second-place Hungary.

The hosts will be looking to win their first title on home soil, with their last chance back in 1988 finishing at the Semi-final stage. However, Germany have only gone out at the Round of 16 stage once in their history, that being their last time out against England.

Denmark finished second in Group C. In three games, Denmark picked up three draws, finishing on three points, only qualifying for the knock-out rounds over Slovenia on disciplinary points.

When making it to the knock-out rounds, Denmark tend to make it further than the Round of 16. In 2021, Denmark made it all the way to the Semi-finals, where they finally lost to England to finish their best run since their win back in 1992.

Germany and Denmark have met 28 times in their histories, with the first meeting coming back in an international friendly in 1912. Germany have the better record in the fixture with 15 wins in comparison to Denmark’s eight wins, with the other five games ending in a draw.

The last five meetings between the two sides have seen three draws and a win each for Germany and Denmark. This fixture usually sees both sides on the scoresheet, with four of the last five games having both sides score.

Germany vs Denmark - Recent Form

In their last five games in all competitions, Germany have three wins and two draws.

In an international friendly, Germany hosted Ukraine. Despite having 27 shots, Germany only managed to get five of them on target and failed to convert any of them. Ukraine only managed three shots on target as the game finished a 0–0 draw.

Germany were back to winning ways in their last international friendly before the Euros against Greece. Giorgos Masouras opened the scoring to give Greece the lead at half-time, but Havertz and Pascal Gross both scored in the second half to give Germany the 2 - 1 win.

The opening game of the Euros saw Germany grab a stylish start. Wirtz, Musiala, Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can all scored in the 5 - 1 win over ten-man Scotland, who has Ryan Porteous sent off and only scored via an Antonio Rudiger own goal.

The second game saw Germany take on Hungary. Musiala was on the scoresheet again, this time joined by Gundogan in a 2 - 0 win over Hungary, who had just 30% of the possession.

The last time out for Germany was against Switzerland. Dan Ndoye opened the scoring for Switzerland in the first half, and Switzerland held on to that lead all the way to added time. Here, Fullkrug popped up with a goal to rescue a 1–1 draw.

In their last five games in all competitions, Denmark have two wins and three draws.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg opened the scoring early in the second minute in Denmark’s international friendly against Sweden. Alexander Isak made it level before the ten-minute mark, but a 86th minute goal from Eriksen gave Denmark the 2 - 1 win.

The final international friendly in June saw Denmark host Norway. Hojbjerg was on the scoresheet again for Denmark, once again early in the 12th minute. Jannik Vestergaard doubled the lead before half-time, but Erling Haaland got Norway on the scoresheet with 15 minutes to go. Yussuf Poulsen popped up with a goal in the last minute of normal time to give Denmark the 3–1 win.

The first game of the Euros Group stage saw Denmark take on Slovenia. Eriksen grabbed the first goal, but a late equaliser from Erik Janza forced a 1–1 draw for Slovenia.

It was another 1 - 1 draw for Denmark, this time against England. Harry Kane gave England the lead, but Morten Hjulmand equalised before half-time. Both sides were unable to find another goal and had to settle for the draw.

The most recent outing for Denmark was against Serbia. Denmark had just three shots on target and Serbia had just one, as neither side found the back of the net and the game finished in a 0–0 draw.
