With Liverpool winning yesterday, Manchester City’s lead at the top of the Premier League is down to three points. Today they will be hoping to extend that lead when they host bitter rivals United in the Manchester derby.
Pep Guardiola’s side haven’t been at their flowing best in their last two fixtures but we all know how potent they are if it all clicks. I believe having Kevin de Bruyne in midfield is crucial for City to play at their best. With him pulling the strings behind Sterling, Foden and Mahrez, there is plenty of goal threat and I see them scoring more than once.
Ralf Ragnick faces some tough decisions both with his back line as well as in attack. I would imagine he brings Harry Maguire back into the middle of defense, whether that’s a good thing is up for some debate. If rumors are true Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled out and with Cavani dealing with a groin injury, the United attack will likely feature Sancho and Rashford.
As in any derby this will be very intense and the tackles will be flying in. The cards market is one to keep an eye on but since many states don’t allow you to wager on those I’m focusing elsewhere.
