@Matkafee's Arsenal vs. Leicester EPL Prediction & Pick - 8/13

Arsenal started their season with an impressive 2-0 win at Crystal Palace last week. A goal from Gabriel Martinelli and an own goal from Marc Guehi earned the Gunners the three points. Leicester opened their season at home against Brentford. The Foxes were up two nil but were unable to hold on to their lead and had to settle for a disappointing draw. Adding to the intrigue of this match is the rumored transfer of Youri Tielemans to Arsenal. The Belgian midfielder has been linked with a move to North London and many are saying this could be an audition of sorts.

Arsenal won this fixture 2-0 last season and without any significant summer signings Brendan Rodgers has his work cut out for him. Jamie Vardy is sure to start in attack and he has had a lot of success against the Gunners. The aging forward no longer possesses the blistering pace he once had but is still very dangerous. James Maddison set up a goal last week and will be charged with creating more chances for the Foxes.

You don’t usually change a winning team and I expect Mikel Arteta to start the same eleven he went with at Selhurst Park. Considering he went up against Wilfred Zaha, Ben White played okay at right back. If any changes are made he could move to the bench making way for Takehiro Tomiyasu who is fit again and got some minutes under his belt with the U-21’s.

If you read last week’s preview you’ll remember I backed Gabriel Jesus to score. The Brazilian performed well but was unable to open his Arsenal account. He’ll lead the line again and I’m never going to be afraid to back him when he can be found at plus money. The best line I could find was +135 on Barstool.
