Liverpool host Spurs this afternoon in a must win match for both clubs. Liverpool are of course chasing the Premier League title while Spurs are in a scrap for the top four with Arsenal. When these teams met in December, the points were shared in an exciting 2-2 draw in which Andy Robertson was sent off.
Spurs had an up and down April but started May off with a 3-1 win over Leicester. Son Heung-min and Harry Kane were on the scoresheet last week and will likely cause Liverpool’s back line plenty of trouble today. Villarreal scored twice in the first half of their Champions League match with Liverpool on Tuesday and they certainly don’t have the same attacking quality.
Is the fixture pile up beginning to take effect on Jurgen Klopp’s side? He was able to get into halftime and make the necessary adjustments on Tuesday but there does seem to be a vulnerability creeping in. We haven’t seen Liverpool at their best since they beat Manchester United 4-0 a few weeks back and I think they’ll need to recapture some of that form to beat Spurs.
I see goals this afternoon but over 2.5 is expensive at -185. Liverpool playing at home gives them the edge and I see them grabbing one more than Spurs. I’m betting parlay of Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals at -105
