@Matkafee’s Premier League Picks - 4/1

With the title chase well and truly on, Liverpool have a chance to go top if they beat Watford on Saturday. For Jurgen Klopp, this match presents a tough challenge scheduling wise with most of his squad returning from international duty. A Champions League quarter-final match with Benfica awaits on Tuesday, so I don’t suspect a repeat of the 5-0 from October. Trent Alexander-Arnold will likely miss the match and Liverpool will miss his quality from out wide and on set pieces.

Watford don’t present much of a goal threat and I suspect Liverpool will keep a clean sheet. You can’t bet Liverpool on the money line at -600 but I did find a nice value in the Correct Score Combinations.

Chelsea have won five matches in a row in the Premier League conceding only one goal in the process. The drama off the pitch certainly hasn’t affected Thomas Tuchel’s side on it. Similar to Liverpool, many players are returning from international duty and they too have a Champions League quarter-final match in midweek. With 8 points separating them from fifth placed Tottenham, the Blues have likely secured Champions League for next season.

Ivan Toney is a dangerous striker and I believe he has earned a move to a bigger club this summer. I like Brentford and they’ve been a nice story this season but I suspect they’ll leave Stamford Bridge with nothing. I’m never laying -280 and Chelsea to win to nil is good value at +100. I’m sensing a pattern developing because I like Chelsea to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 (+130 FD) even more.
