@Matkafee's Villarreal vs. Liverpool Pick & Analysis - 5/3

Villarreal host Liverpool tonight in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final. The Reds built a 2-0 lead at Anfield and are big favorites to progress to the final. If the the Spanish side has any hope of progressing, they must be more adventurous going forward. Managing only one shot on target is simply not good enough. 

It appears that Villarreal’s best player, Gerard Moreno, will play a role in the match. He missed the first leg with a hamstring injury and if he can go, that will boost their chances of getting back in the tie. Unai Emery rested several key players this weekend so you can be sure the team will give an energized performance.

Jurgen Klopp also rested several members of his first eleven in a 1-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday. Even though they’re protecting a 2-0 lead, I expect Liverpool to take the game to Villarreal. There is a significant gap in quality between these two sides and I can’t see the Reds conceding possession. If Liverpool can grab the first goal then Villarreal will be faced with either accepting defeat or throwing caution to the wind.  

I’m going to stay away from a playing a side or the totals market because I’m not confident in any score line. What I am betting today is the inform Sadio Mane to score at +145 which I found on FanDuel.
