Brentford find themselves much closer to the relegation zone than they would’ve hoped and will be looking for a big win this weekend. Arsenal, however, are in desperate need of a three-point haul to keep them in the title challenge.

Arsenal currently sit third in the Premier League after 26 games. The Gunners have 18 wins, four draws and four losses, leaving them on 58 points, four points behind Manchester City and five points behind Liverpool, but still yet to play Sheffield United.

The Gunners have been on form in front of goal this season with 62 goals in 26 games, with an average of 2.38 goals a game. At the other end of the pitch, Arsenal have been even better, conceding 23 goals and keeping ten clean sheets.

Brentford, on the other hand, currently sit 15th in the Premier League. In 27 games, The Bees have seven wins, five draws and 15 losses which leaves them on 26 points, only six points above the relegation zone.

The Bees have been better in front of goal this season than their league position would suggest. In 27 games, Brentford have scored 39 goals giving them an average of 1.44 goals a game. However, The Bees have struggled defensively this season, conceding 50 goals and keeping just four clean sheets.

This will be the 20th meeting between Arsenal and Brentford, with the first meeting coming all the way back in 1902. Not much separates the two sides with Arsenal having eight wins in comparison to Brentford’s six wins, the other five games ending in a draw.

Brentford haven’t beaten Arsenal since their first game back in the Premier League in 2021. Since then Arsenal have won four times and there has been one draw. In fact, the last two wins have been 1 - 0 wins for Arsenal, both this season in the Premier League and the League Cup.

Form Guide

In their last five games in all competitions, Arsenal have four wins and one loss.

The Emirates hosted a big game at the top of the table as Arsenal took on Liverpool. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for Arsenal but an own goal from Gabriel Magalhaes drew Liverpool level before halftime. Gabriel Martinelli regained the lead for Arsenal and following the red card to Ibrahima Konate, Leandro Trossard scored to secure the 3 - 1 win for Arsenal.

The next time out was a trip to West Ham. William Saliba gave Arsenal the lead and Saka, Magalhaes and Trossard joined him on the scoresheet to give Arsenal the 4 - 0 lead at halftime. Saka completed his brace and Declan Rice grabbed a goal against his old club in a 6 - 0 win for Arsenal.

It was another high-scoring game for Arsenal, this time against a struggling Burnley. Martin Odegaard opened the scoring for Arsenal in the fourth minute and a penalty from Saka gave The Gunners the 2 - 0 lead at halftime. Saka completed his brace in the first few minutes of the second half and goals from Trossard and Kai Havertz bagged a 5 - 0 win for Arsenal.

In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Arsenal travelled to Portugal to take on Porto. Arsenal had zero shots on target as Galeno grabbed a goal in the 94th minute to give Porto the 1 - 0 win and lead into the second leg.

The last time out for Arsenal was against Newcastle. An own goal from Sven Botmas gave Arsenal the lead and Havertz doubled The Gunners lead before halftime. In the second half Saka and Jakub Kiwior both scored to give Arsenal the 4 - 1 win, former Gunner Joe Willock scoring for Newcastle.

Arsenal still have to face Sheffield United in the Monday Night Football this weekend.

In their last five games in all competitions, Brentford have one win, one draw and three losses.

Christian Norgaard and Ivan Toney were both on the scoresheet for the trip to Molineux. Despite Wolves having 17 shots and 72% of the possession, The Bees held on for the 2 - 0 win.

Toney found the back of the net again against Liverpool, but merely as a consolation goal. Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo all scored for Liverpool to give The Reds the 4 - 1 win.

The trip to the Etihad saw Brentford register just 30% of the possession and just six shots in comparison to Manchester City’s 25 shots. Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the game in the 71st minute to give City the 1 - 0 win over Brentford.

Jarrod Bowen scored twice before the ten-minute mark for West Ham but a goal from Neal Maupay got Brentford into the game before halftime. Bowen completed his hat-trick in the second half and was joined on the scoresheet by Emerson Palmieri as West Ham won 4 - 2, Yoane Wissa grabbing a late goal for The Bees.

The most recent outing for Brentford was against Chelsea. Nicolas Jackson gave The Blues the lead at halftime but Mads Roerslev equalised for Brentford early in the second half. A scissor kick from Wissa gave The Bees the lead but a late goal from Axel Disasi forced the 2 - 2 draw.

FlashPicks Prediction

Arsenal have been in dominant form in the Premier League and it’s likely that Brentford won’t be able to change that. However, The Bees may be able to at least find the back of the net against The Gunners. We predict: Arsenal 3-1 Brentford
