Sheffield United currently sit bottom of the Premier League table after 29 games. The Blades have three wins, six draws and 20 losses, leaving them on 15 points, seven points from safety.

The Blades have the worst scoring record in the league, scoring just 27 goals in 29 games, the only team to average under a goal a game. Defensively, Sheffield United have been even worse, conceding 77 goals and keeping just one clean sheet.

Chelsea, on the other hand, currently sit 11th in the Premier League. In 28 games, The Blues have 11 wins, seven draws and ten losses which leaves them on 40 points, just one point from the top half with two games in hand.

The Blues haven’t been too bad in front of goal this season, scoring 49 goals in 28 games, giving them an average of 1.75 goals a game. Chelsea have also struggled at the other end of the pitch, conceding 47 goals and keeping just five clean sheets.

Sheffield United and Chelsea have met 86 times in their histories, with the first meeting coming all the way back in 1907. The Blues have the better record with 42 wins in comparison to Sheffield United’s 28 wins, the other 16 games ending in a draw.

Form Guide

In their last five games in all competitions, Sheffield United have two draws and three losses.

Mason Holgate was shown a red card in the 13th minute against Brighton as Facundo Buonanotte and Danny Welbeck gave The Seagulls the 2 - 0 lead at halftime. An own goal from Jack Robinson and a brace from Simon Adingra then secured the 5 - 0 win for Brighton.

The trip to the Molineux saw Sheffield United register more shots on target than Wolves, but the goal from Pablo Sarabia in the 30th minute was the only goal of the game as The Blades slumped to a 1 - 0 loss.

However, the visit from Arsenal saw The Blades fail to register a single shot on target in their 19% of possession. Martin Odegaard opened the scoring in the fifth minute and an own goal from Jayden Bogle doubled the lead less than ten minutes later. Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice all scored to make it 5 - 0 at halftime and a goal from Ben White wrapped up a 6 - 0 win for Arsenal.

Sheffield United picked up a 2 - 0 lead against Bournemouth with goals from Gustavo Hamer and Robinson. However, Dango Ouattara got The Cherries on the scoresheet with 15 minutes to go and Enes Unal grabbed a goal in the 91st minute to force a 2 - 2 draw.

Ben Brereton Diaz opened the scoring for Sheffield United but Joao Palhinha equalised just four minutes later. Another goal from Diaz and a goal from Oli McBurnie gave The Blades the 3 - 1 lead going into the last 20 minutes. However, a late goal from Bobby De Cordova-Reid and an even later goal from Rodrigo Muniz grabbed a 3 - 3 draw for Fulham.

Sheffield United also have a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool this Thursday in the Premier League.

In their last five games in all competitions, Chelsea have three wins and two draws.

The Fifth Round of the FA Cup saw Chelsea host old rivals Leeds. Mateo Joseph opened the scoring for Leeds in the eighth minute but goals from Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk gave Chelsea the 2 - 1 lead at halftime. Joseph scored again for Leeds to level the game but a 90th minute goal from Conor Gallagher grabbed a 3 - 2 win for Chelsea.

The trip down the road in West London to Brentford saw Chelsea in the lead at halftime through another goal from Jackson. Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa both scored to give Brentford the lead with 20 minutes to go, but a late goal from Axel Disasi grabbed a 2 - 2 draw for Chelsea.

The Blues bounced back against Newcastle. Jackson was on the scoresheet yet again for Chelsea, early on, but Alexander Isak equalised for The Magpies before halftime. Jacob Murphy did get on the scoresheet late on for Newcastle but goals from Cole Palmer and Mudryk secured the 3 - 2 win for Chelsea.

The Quarter Finals of the FA Cup saw Chelsea host another Championship side, this time Leicester. Marc Cucurella opened the scoring for Chelsea and Palmer doubled the lead before the halftime whistle. However, an own goal from Disasi and a goal from Stephy Mavididi drew Leicester level just after the hour mark. Following the red card to Callum Doyle, Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke both scored in added time to give Chelsea the 4 - 2 win.

The visit from Burnley saw two goals from Palmer, but goals from Josh Cullen and Dara O’Shea rescued a 2 - 2 draw for ten-man Burnley who had Lorenz Assignon sent off.

Chelsea also host Manchester United in the Premier League on Thursday.

FlashPicks Prediction

Despite their hiccup against Burnley, Chelsea are likely to bounce back against Sheffield United, with The Blades unlikely to even get on the scoresheet. Sheffield United 0-3 Chelsea
