Manchester City vs Wolves: Betting Tips, Match Prediction & Preview

The Etihad hosts Manchester City and Wolves this Saturday in the late kick off in the Premier League. City look for a win to keep pressure on Arsenal whereas a win for Wolves would help them on their quest for a finish in the top half of the table.

The title race looks to have been whittled down to a straight shootout between Arsenal and Man City, with City having a key game in hand. Wolves, however, are in the busy table looking to leapfrog Brighton and Bournemouth.

Man City currently sit second in the Premier League after 34 games. The Sky Blues have 24 wins, seven draws and three losses, leaving them on 79 points, one point behind Arsenal.

City have been amongst the goals this season, scoring 80 goals in 34 games, an average of 2.42 goals a game. Man City have also been solid defensively, conceding 32 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets.

Wolves, on the other hand, currently sit 11th in the Premier League. In 35 games, Wolves have 13 wins, seven draws and 15 losses which leaves them on 46 points, two points from the top half of the table.

Wolves have struggled in front of goal this season, scoring 46 goals in 35 games which gives them an average of 1.35 goals a game. However, Wolves have been better at the other end of the pitch, conceding 55 goals and keeping five clean sheets.

This will be the 130th meeting between Man City and Wolves, with the first meeting coming all the way back in 1899. Not much separates the two sides with City having 54 wins in comparison to Wolves’ 50 wins, the other 25 games ending in a draw.

The last five games in this fixture have seen four wins for City and one win for Wolves - that coming in the most recent meeting in September. Three of the last five games have also had just one team on the scoresheet.

An own goal from Daiki Hashioka gave Man City the lead against Luton in the second minute, with Mateo Kovacic and Haaland making it 3 - 0 with 15 minutes to go. Ross Barkley did get Luton in the game in the 81st minute but goals from Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol gave City the 5 - 1 win.

The second leg of the Champions League Quarter Final saw City host Real Madrid. Rodrygo opened the scoring in the 12th minute but Kevin De Bruyne equalised for City in the second half sending the tie to extra time and later penalties. Misses from Kovacic and Bernardo Silva gave Real Madrid the 4 - 3 win.

In the FA Cup Semi Finals City took on Chelsea. Despite having just three shots on target, Silva found the back of the net in the 84th minute to give City the 1 - 0 win and the spot in the Final.

The trip to the coast saw a goal from De Bruyne and a brace from Phil Foden give City the 3 - 0 lead over Brighton at halftime. Julian Alvarez added another in the second half to wrap up a 4 - 0 win for City.

The last time out for Man City was against Nottingham Forest. Gvardiol and Haaland were both on the scoresheet as Man City secured the 2 - 0 win.

In their last five games in all competitions, Wolves have one win, one draw and three losses.

A penalty from Pablo Sarabia gave Wolves the 1 - 0 lead over West Ham at halftime. However, a penalty from Lucas Paqueta drew The Hammers level and a goal from James Ward-Prowse secured the 2 - 1 win for West Ham.

The trip to Nottingham Forest saw Matheus Cunha open the scoring for Wolves in the 40th minute but Morgan Gibbs-White equalised for Forest in the first half added time. Danilo then put Forest ahead but just five minutes later Cunha found the back of the net again to force a 2 - 2 draw for Wolves.

Wolves could only manage three shots on target against Arsenal as Leandro Trossard put The Gunners ahead on the stroke of halftime and Martin Odegaard added another in the 95th minute to give Arsenal the 2 - 0 win.

Despite having 63% of the possession against Bournemouth, Wolves couldn’t convert any of their four shots on target. Antoine Semenyo scored the only goal of the game for Bournemouth in the first half to give The Cherries the 1 - 0 win even with the red card to Milos Kerkez.

The most recent outing for Wolves was against Luton Town. Hwang Hee-chan opened the scoring for Wolves in the first half and Toti Gomes doubled the lead five minutes into the second half. Carlton Morris did score late on but Wolves held on for the 2 - 1 win.

FlashPicks Prediction

Man City are in great form in the Premier League and Wolves are unlikely to be able to get in the way of the charge for the title charge, with Foden likely to be on the scoresheet. Man City 2 - 0 Wolves.
