With six games remaining, Juventus will be looking over the shoulders rather than ahead. The league title is officially gone, and AC Milan are six points ahead in second. Whilst they could still catch them, they must be wary of the teams behind. Bologna trail them by four points, and Roma by eight. A win this weekend would strengthen their position in the top four, and it would be unlikely they relinquish their place. However, a defeat would give the teams below them the opportunity to capitalise.

In contrast, Cagliari are battling to avoid relegation. They are currently 14th with 30 points, but this is just three points above the bottom three. What could perhaps be in their favour is that there are three other teams separating themselves and the relegation zone. Maximum points could see them move up a place in the table, but any dropped points could leave them in a more precarious position. They are hoping to retain their top flight status for a second consecutive season, following one campaign in Serie B.

However, they still have plenty of attacking talent that can cause some issues for the opposition defence. Dusan Vlahovic has scored 15 goals this season, whilst Federico Chiesa has found the back of the net seven times. However, the first game in this run resulted in victory as they beat bottom of the league Salernitana 4-2 at home. Gianluca Lapadula and Gianluca Gateano gave them a first half 2-0 lead before Eldor Shomurodov added a third. However, the visitors scored twice in as many minutes to get right back in the game. Shomirodov put the game to bed with 14 minutes to go.

They followed this with a 1-0 defeat at Monza. They failed to get a single shot on target from 10 attempts, whilst their opponents dominated possession. The decisive goal came in the 42nd minute through Daniel Maldini. They dropped more points at home against Hellas Verona as they drew 1-1.
