A good run of form for AC Milan, and a bad run of form for Inter Milan, could give AC Milan a shot for the Serie A title. Sassuolo, however, desperately need a win in the tight battle for Serie A safety.

Sassuolo currently sit 19th in Serie A after 31 games. The Neroverdi have six wins, seven draws and 18 losses, leaving them on 25 points, two points from safety.

The Neroverdi have been much better in front of goal than their league standing suggests. In 31 games, Sassuolo have scored 36 goals which gives them an average of 1.16 goals a game. At the other end of the pitch, however, Sassuolo have conceded 59 goals and have kept just two clean sheets.

The trip to Verona saw Karol Swiderski score the only goal of the game in the 79th minute to give Verona the 1 - 0 win over a Sassuolo side that had just two shots on target.

Sassuolo bounced back in a big win over Frosinone in the relegation battle. Kristian Thorstvedt was the only name on the scoresheet in the 58th minute in a 1 - 0 win for Sassuolo, despite Frosinone having 61% of the possession but just one shot on target.
