Round 1 of the MidWest Region continues today with a great matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and the USC Trojans. Both teams had a terrific season, finishing with 20 plus wins! Miami holds quality wins over Wake Forest, UNC, Duke, and Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes are a solid offensive team that averages 74.9 ppg, shoots 47.7% from the floor, and 35.3% from behind the arc. The struggle on the defensive side of the ball, giving up 70.8 ppg, allowing teams to shoot 46.3% from the floor, and 35.4% from behind the arc.

The Trojans hold quality wins against San Diego St, Colorado, and UCLA. They are a much more balanced team than Miami, scoring 73.3 ppg, shooting 45.5% from the floor, 35.4% from behind the arc. On the defensive side, they are much better! They give up 66 ppg, allow teams to shoot 38.9% from the floor and 33.5% from 3.

This is a pretty even matchup, but I think USC does enough to beat Miami and cover the spread. They are a better defensive team and can trade buckets with Miami.
