My Play of the Days are rolling at 7-3 in the last ten and for today's POD article I am taking a first half money line parlay.

The first matchup is between the Northwestern Wildcats and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Iowa has proven to be one of the best first half teams and typically gets off to a hot start. Iowa averages 40.9 points in the first half and gives up 34.3 points. Iowa has won 6 straight first halves coming against strong opponents and 8 of their last 10 games.

Northwestern relies more on their defense and does not possess the offensive firepower that Iowa has. In the first half, Northwestern averages 34 points and surrenders 31.7. I don’t see them winning the first half in this matchup. Northwestern is 2-3 in their last 5 first halves and 4-6 in their last 10 games. Iowa should win the first half easily!

For my second part of this pick, I am looking at the UCLA vs Washington matchup. Just like Iowa, UCLA is a solid first half team. UCLA averages 37.7 points in the first half and gives up 29.5 points. UCLA is 4-1 in their last 5 first halves and recently beat Washington 37-25 in the first half.

Washington averages 31.6 points in the first half and gives up 35.2 points. In Washington’s last 5 games they are 0-4-1. I think that we will see a similar first half as their first matchup. Take UCLA in this one!
