Duke comes into this matchup 4-1 after a dominating win vs UVA. They have a very good well balanced team on both sides of the ball but especially on offense. They rank 10th on the ground, 35th through the air, and average 35 points a game through 5 games. Defensively they have had good performances other than at Kansas In which they gave up 35 points but that shouldnβt be a worry in this matchup. Holding teams to 19 ppg so far this year overall.
Georgia Tech on the other hand is coming in with a 2-3 record after a surprising win at PITT in which they forced multiple turnovers. Statistically theyβre really bad on both sides of the ball. Offensively theyβre in the bottom half in pretty much every category. 103rd in passing and 96th in rushing and defensively itβs worse, ranking 128th vs the run and 119th vs the pass.
If you want to play devil's advocate then you can look at the strength of schedule which GT has the clear advantage. Nonetheless I think this is a game where Duke has the clear advantage and rolls over GT who is coming off that emotional close win as big dogs.
