@Matkafee UFC Fight Night London Betting Picks & Preview

Latest News

UFC returns to London’s O2 Arena for the first time in a couple of years. The English love a fight night and the crowd will be on fire cheering on their countrymen throughout the card. For this preview I’m focusing on just the top three fights and I’ll give you my pick for each.

A parlay of all three picks pays $179.50 from a $20 wager! Check out the picks & analysis below.

Editor's note: If you live in New York unfortunately you don't have access to the exact markets Matt is playing for both the Paddy Pimblett and Tom Aspinall fights on FanDuel so we've included alternate options which align with Matt's plays.

Paddy Pimblett v Kazula Vargas

The hype behind Paddy the Baddy is growing fast and this is a hand-picked matchup by the UFC for him to succeed. As if Vargas didn’t have it tough enough, he’s going to have 20,000 fans rooting for his head to be taken off. Pimblett has all the tools to finish this fight either by KO or Submission.

A highlight reel finish could elevate the Englishman into the top 15 and set up some big money fights in the Lightweight division. I’m betting Paddy to win early.

Arnold Allen v Dan Hooker

Arnold “Almighty” Allen takes a big step up in competition and puts his top 10 ranking on the line in a bout with Dan Hooker in the Featherweight division. The Englishman will certainly have the backing of the home crowd but will have an uphill battle against the much larger Kiwi. It’s smart for Hooker to drop back down to 145 where he can avoid the bigger and stronger wrestlers in the Lightweight division.

The 5 inch reach disparity will be difficult for Allen to overcome and I see Hooker controlling the distance for most of the fight. I’m betting Dan Hooker by KO/TKO or on Points at plus money on FD.

Alexander Volkov v Tom Aspinall

Is there anything better than a main event between Heavyweight knock out artists? The Russian Alexander Volkov will try to derail Tom Aspinall’s hype train and send the London crowd home disappointed. He’s been in the Octagan with a higher level of competition and has impressive victories over Roy Nelson, Stefan Struve, Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem. His last two fights have gone the distance and I’m sure his game plan will be to test Aspinall’s unproven cardio.

We don’t know about the Englishman’s cardio because his longest fight in the UFC was a second round submission of Andrei Arlovski. His other three fights have ended in first round knockouts and suspect he will be pressing for another. I’m backing Aspinall to finish Volkov in Round 1, 2, or 3 at +185
