Ian Happ, to hit a home run at +390
Happ has been on a roll lately with a .458 batting average and three home runs. He’ll be facing Nationals starting pitcher Jake Irvin at Wrigley Field, where he’s hit nine of his 19 home runs. Irvin is second in the league with 31 home runs surrendered this season, with at least one in six of his last seven starts.
Jack Flaherty, OVER 6.5 Strikeouts at +108
He has missed the mark in four of his last five games, but went OVER it in eight of his last 15 starts and in 14 of his 27 starts this season. The numbers aren’t too encouraging, but since he’s playing the White Sox and Chicago struck out more over the last week than every other team in baseball (62 in six games), this market has value at +108.
Yordana Alvarez, To record 2+ hits at +190
Houston is facing Texas in Arlington tonight, where Rangers starter Merrick Kelly has been pitching well this season (.211 OBA). Burt Alvarez has been on a tear the last few days with three multi-hit games in a row (4-5 in his last two). He has only faced Kelly three times, but he recorded a hit in one of those at-bats. Kelly is a good pitcher, but when you’re hot, you’re hot.
