The Pirates visit Arizona tonight on the back end of the slate in a game few will be watching. Both teams have fallen short of expectations this year, although fans who had expectations may have been misguided in the first place.

The scoring in this series has been back and forth, with a 3-point game to start the series and 10 runs scored last night. Neither result should be shocking though – Game 1 was started by Zac Gallen who has been the ace in Arizona this year and the Pirates used a solid bullpen rotation starting with Beede. The second game came with a serious downgrade in starters with Tommy Henry and Zach Thompson.

Now tonight we have Madison Bumgarner starting for the Diamondbacks against Mitch Keller. Bumgarner is far from his prime but he’s been solid, especially at home. The Pirates have also seriously struggled against lefties. Keller has had an up and down season but is hitting his groove recently, giving up only 6 runs in his last 5 starts. Count on the above average pitching and well below average hitting to get us under 8 tonight.

Somebody forgot to tell the Orioles they’re not good this year. They’ve won 7 of their last 8 including 2 in a row against the division rival Blue Jays and look to complete the sweep tonight. Against all odds they are only a half game back in the Wild Card race. No one deserves more credit in the streak than Anthony Santander who is batting .262 with 60 RBIs and 20 HRs. Tonight he has a dream matchup against Jose Berrios who is a close second for most home runs given up this season at 24. Camden has been good to Santander and tonight he could easily pull off the 21st of the year.

It's just too tempting to stay away from a Rockies home game. Especially after the absolute derby that happened last night. We hit on DeJong last night but there are a few names that look great coming in tonight. I prefer the Cardinals side since they match up with Kyle Freeland who is a little more likely to give up home runs than Jose Quintana. For my money, the best bet is the vet Paul Goldschmidt. He’s leading the team in home runs and the platoon advantage tonight against Freeland. He tends to go on streaks and Colorado is the best place in the league to start one.
