@KeepTheJuice21 +1940 Home Run Parlay & Yankees @ Mariners Prediction - 8/9

New York Yankees @ Seattle Mariners

Here we are again, the pendulum has swung away from the Yankees and gave us some great betting value last night. And they delivered. Judge did his thing, Donaldson did his thing, Benintendi got his hitting right. The Yankees seem to have shook off the rust of a 5 game losing streak.

Now in the second game in Seattle the line has shifted slightly more towards the Yankees. But it should be way in favor of the Yankees because taking the mound tonight is Gerrit Cole. The strikeout machine had a tough outing last week against the Mariners but 6 runs scored on 7 hits and 1 walk is very unlikely to happen again. No matter which way you think about it, Cole is a major upgrade over Taillon.

If the offense can keep humming, which they are statistically bound to do, this should be a very winnable game. Add to that a pitcher who they’ll be facing the 3rd time this season and this is looking like a must take.

Home Run Parlay

The home run parlay starts as it has many time this year in Denver. The Cardinals visit the Rockies tonight and in the thin Colorado air it doesn’t take much to get one over the fence. And if there’s a Cardinal who’s shown great power recently it’s Paul DeJong. You’ll get some solid value from most books here because of the poor start to the season DeJong had. But he’s clearly figured out his swing, with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs in the last 8 games. The young Ryan Feltner will be starting for the Rockies, and he’s given up 7 home runs in only 40 innings pitched. A perfect storm.

The two studs in Baltimore both went yard last night, Ryan Mountcastle and Anthony Santander. We were only missing Vlad Guerrero on the other side of the parlay to hit. Tonight we won’t be making the same mistake. Instead we’re riding the hot hand with the young 3 rd baseman Matt Chapman. Nobody is hitting the ball harder than Chapman right now, with 6 home runs in his last 11 games, including one last night in Camden Yards. He can be a streaky hitter which is good for us since he’s currently streaking. Much like the other pick, I also love his opponent Kyle Bradish, who has given up 12 bombs over 56 innings pitched this year. 9 of those home runs have been at his home park. Let’s make it 10 tonight.
