The White Sox are a tough team to predict, no more so than when Giolito is on the mound. Typically you’ll know right away when you’re watching this team whether he’s got it or not. His past few outings have been iffy, but he put together a nice performance against the Angels on Monday that makes me think he’s gained some stability back. Either way, a hit or miss type pitcher is something I love for betting. On any bet your odds should be close to even on either side, but this way it feels like the outcome is much more binary.

What makes this bet a must take though is the Giants. They’ve struggled to hit recently and that’s a hard bug to shake. If Giolito has his stuff, he’ll have no problem with this lineup. So take the White Sox to the bank to kick off your 4th of July right.

We’re double dipping on the same game this afternoon and this is the game to do it on. The home runs have been rampant at Coors Field this year and we’ve got two great hitters today. Since returning from the IL Kris Bryant has been in good form, with 7 hits over 21 at bats. He has yet to get one over the fence though, and that has a good chance to change today. Zac Gallen is a great pitcher, but he is one of the hardest hit in the league. His hard hit rate is higher than 85% of the league and the average exit velocity on his pitches is also in the 82nd percentile. In layman’s terms, he’s a hit or miss pitcher and that bodes well for home runs.

Besides Kris Bryant, CJ Cron is the obvious choice for one of the Rockies to go yard today. He’s got 17 home runs this season, leading the Rockies, and 13 of those have been at the home park. Getting into the weeds a little more, he fair best against right handed pitchers, like Zac Gallen and most of the Diamondbacks relievers.
