What a beautiful day for long balls at Yankee stadium. Expected to be around 90 degrees at first pitch with 10-15 mph winds blowing to right center field. I cannot wait to see some of the bets and parlays people hit in this one, and I have to get in on the action.
Mike Trout has come out this season and shown he is still the best player in baseball. He is 12th in the league in average, 4th in homers, and 1st in OPS. He travels to play in one of the league’s smaller stadiums on a beautiful night. I think he is set up very well to have himself a night at the plate. He has some terrific splits that will come into play tonight:
- Vs lefty: .415 average, .366 ISO, 9 extra base hits in 41 at bats
- Away: .266 average, .266 ISO, 9 extra base hits in 64 at bats
- Night: .333 average, .376 ISO, 21 extra base hits in 117 at bats
He has been phenomenal vs lefties and at night and while his away numbers do not jump off the page, I still love this spot considering the conditions he will play in. He has been great at Yankee stadium in his career, and gets a rather rare chance to play on prime time TV, so I think Mike shows out vs Jordan Montgomery. I will be splitting a unit, half on total bases and half on a home run.
