I have primarily focused on the strikeout market for a few weeks now, but I have to sneak in this total base play for Sunday Night Baseball.Β
Mike Trout had an 0-22 slump to end May/ begin June. I believe it is safe to say those days are behind us as he has 5 hits in his last 6 at bats including 2 doubles and 3 home runs.Β
Trout sits 24th in the league in batting average, he is 10th in total bases despite having less plate appearances than anyone in the top 30, 5th in extra base hits, and 3rd in ISO. The beauty of total bases is finding a player in their best position to succeed, which tonight is set up greatly for Trout.Β
Mike Trout is obviously a terrific player, but he is an entirely different beast at home. He is batting an even .200 on the road with a .200 ISO, those numbers shift to .373 batting average and .471 ISO at home. It is also going to be a beautiful night at Angel Stadium for hitting.Β
Trout dominates both right and left handed pitching. Vs righties this year he has a .270 average with a .355 ISO. Ok, now time for the best stat, he is 10/16 vs Walker with 4 extra base hits (3 home runs). Walker is very fastball/ slider heavy, both of which Mike Trout destroys. I like the best player in baseball to shine tonight on prime time TV.
