I could not wait to see the first half run line in this game when I woke up. If you were big into betting baseball last season, you’ve probably heard about Chris Flexen +.5. Sportsbooks we’re kind enough to give us the + on run lines in many of Flexen’s starts and he delivered. The beauty of this is we win this bet in a tie or Seattle holding the lead after 5 innings. Flexen made 31 starts last season and would’ve won this bet in 21 of them, and I like this spot for him to start hot.
The opposing pitcher is Dylan Bundy. Bundy was arguably the worst starter in baseball last season. Perhaps a change of scenery does him well, but I’m happy betting against him til he proves me wrong. For the season last year, he had a 6.06 ERA, 6.75 ERA in home games, and a 7.11 ERA in night games.
Seattle had a decent offense last year, but I really like the improvements they made this off-season. They added 3 solid bats in Adam Frazier, Jesse Winker, and Eugenio Suarez. They also have 3 younger bats I anticipate improvement from this season in Kelenic, Crawford, and France. They haven’t been a great offense in the 3 games so far, but this is a nice spot to get getting for the bats.
