Luis Garcia gets a nice home matchup tonight vs a K prone Tigers lineup. The Tigers have the 6th most strikeouts in the league vs right handed pitching and feature one of my favorite players to target, Javy Baez. Austin Meadows is good at avoiding striking out vs righties, but outside of him nearly the whole lineup is a great target:
- Schoop 15 k in 66 at bats
- Candelario 15 K in 63 at bats
- Cabrera 17 K in 54 at bats
- Torkelson 20 K in 50 at bats
- Grossman 16 K in 47 at bats
- Baez 13 K in 47 at bats
You get the point, I’ll certainly keep my eye on this Tigers lineup against solid pitching.
Luis Garcia has hit his 5.5 line in both of his home starts this season including against a great Toronto offense. He’s racked up 13 K in 11.2 home innings. While that is a small sample size, he had 90 K in 79 home innings last season. In his last 20 home starts, he has hit this line in 14. In a matchup vs the Tigers, I’ll happily bet him to do it again.
