A nice 75 degree day at Guaranteed Rate field has me looking to dabble in a market I have not written about yet this season. I will be looking towards a team total today, and thereβs no better option than the Yankees right now.
The Yankees come into tonight having scored 5 or more runs in 4 straight games including 15 and 10 to start this series vs Chicago. For the season, they are averaging exactly 5 runs per game with a slight uptick to 5.29 away from Yankee stadium. Chicagoβs stadium is a top 3 home run park, and the Yankees have enjoyed their time there so far with 8 home runs combined in the first two games of this series.
On the other side is the White Sox. The Sox allow the 7th most runs in the league at 4.52 a game. Things get even worse at home where they allow the third most runs per game at 5.12. Tonight they trot on Dallas Kuechel to the mound. Dallas has a 6.86 ERA and a 2.10 WHIP. Opposing hitters are batting .340 vs him so far with 3 home runs. Behind him will be the leagueβs 10th worst bullpen in ERA at a collective 4.10. I think the Yankees continue their offensive dominance tonight in this wonderful matchup.
