Atomic's NBA Sunday Best Bet: Suns @ Mavericks - 3/5

After cashing his debut FlashPicks article yesterday, Atomic gave us a Player Prop pick as Kevin Durant & Kyrie Irving meet for this Western Conference matchup!

This will likely be a popular one but this spot is just way too good for to many reasons for Kevin Durant here. He will face off against the Dallas Mavericks who have been the #6 WORST Defensive Rating the last month since trading their best specifically forward defender in Dorian Finney-Smith & they have also been playing at the 18th highest pace which is quite the improvement considering they were basically dead last for the entire season so now they will be worse defensively & possibly give Durant more possessions/ opportunities to score. We saw Durant play a total of 31 minutes last game against Chicago and go for 20 Points I could see him getting all the way up to 32-33 minutes in this one he is over this line in 88% of games & just has the perfect matchup in this one we could even see Green likely on Booker not that he would limit him too much but would still favor Kevin Durant no matter what matchup as the Mavericks just don’t have that forward defender anymore & are now going to be playing at a much faster pace.

Dallas has also been giving up the 5th highest Field Goal% & the 6th most Free Throw attempts per game & they actually limit 3’s allowing the #1 fewest attempts per game but we all know Kevin Durant is one of the best mid-range players of all time so he could get even more isolated possessions as this Dallas team doesn’t like to help off the three point line & get more opportunities to score they are also allowing the #12 most points in the paints to opponents with really just Dwight Powell defending the rim that should also be a good area Kevin Durant can attack & get some easy buckets in. We’ve got a low line , good matchup , high hit - rate against a poor overall defense this is just an amazing spot for Durant.
